A blues scale

How it is built

• The minor pentatonic plus one note: E♭, the flat fifth. Six notes.
• E♭ is the blue note. It is a passing tone, not a resting place: slide through it between D and E.
• Works over every chord of a 12-bar blues in A, major or minor.
