How it is built
- Five notes: the minor scale without its 2nd and 6th. No half steps, so every note works over E♭m, and most work over a blues in E♭.
- G♭ is the flat third and D♭ the flat seventh. Those two notes are the minor sound; bend D♭ up to E♭ to resolve a phrase.
- Same notes as G♭ major pentatonic, three frets higher.
