How it is built
- Five notes: the minor scale without its 2nd and 6th. No half steps, so every note works over Em, and most work over a blues in E.
- G is the flat third and D the flat seventh. Those two notes are the minor sound; bend D up to E to resolve a phrase.
- Same notes as G major pentatonic, three frets higher.
