How it is built
- Five notes: the minor scale without its 2nd and 6th. No half steps, so every note works over G♯m, and most work over a blues in G♯.
- B is the flat third and F♯ the flat seventh. Those two notes are the minor sound; bend F♯ up to G♯ to resolve a phrase.
- Same notes as B major pentatonic, three frets higher.
