How it is built
- Five notes: the minor scale without its 2nd and 6th. No half steps, so every note works over B♭m, and most work over a blues in B♭.
- D♭ is the flat third and A♭ the flat seventh. Those two notes are the minor sound; bend A♭ up to B♭ to resolve a phrase.
- Same notes as D♭ major pentatonic, three frets higher.
