How it is built
- Five notes: the minor scale without its 2nd and 6th. No half steps, so every note works over Gm, and most work over a blues in G.
- B♭ is the flat third and F the flat seventh. Those two notes are the minor sound; bend F up to G to resolve a phrase.
- Same notes as B♭ major pentatonic, three frets higher.
