How it is built
- A major scale with a flat 7th: F instead of F♯. Seven notes.
- F takes away the leading tone, so the scale does not pull home. That is why it fits a dominant 7th chord and most blues and rock vamps.
- Same notes as C major, started from its fifth degree.
