How it is built

• A major scale with a flat 7th: F instead of F♯. Seven notes.
• F takes away the leading tone, so the scale does not pull home. That is why it fits a dominant 7th chord and most blues and rock vamps.
• Same notes as C major, started from its fifth degree.
