How it is built

• A major scale with a flat 7th: B♭ instead of B. Seven notes.
• B♭ takes away the leading tone, so the scale does not pull home. That is why it fits a dominant 7th chord and most blues and rock vamps.
• Same notes as F major, started from its fifth degree.
